The Down Syndrome Association of Roanoke (DSAR) is a not-for-profit , nondenominational organization providing advocacy, educational, and support services for families and friends of individuals with Down syndrome, as well as professionals who work with individuals with disabilities. The DSAR's goal is to improve the quality of life for all persons with mental and/or physical handicaps and to make Southwest Virginia a model community for individuals with disabilities.
